We recently started the first phase of the redevelopment of our new building in Monkgate. Since we acquired the former Trinity Methodist building late last year, we have been making essential repairs and preparing the building for the main renovation.
As Paul has set out previously, our vision for the building includes creating a new hall upstairs, refitting the kitchen, and upgrading the downstairs spaces. We hope to be use these to host a variety of activities throughout the week, and also offer the use of them to local community groups and charities. Until we’ve completed essential works, we will continue to host our 11am service in the Novotel, although our evening Elim Link service has been meeting in Monkgate since the start of the year.

September 2025: Demolition Begins
We’re preparing the building for our upcoming renovations by removing the old pews and tiered seating from the balcony. We’ve also taken away some of the wooden panelling on the walls downstairs. We’re doing this so that we can separate the upstairs space – which will have a new mezzanine floor – from the rooms downstairs, effectively creating two halls from the original space.
