Getting to the Monkgate Building

Our Monkgate Building is just outside York’s City Centre, making is easily accessible on foot via public transport, or through a variety of cycle routes from across the York area.

Find the building itself at 43 Monkgate, York, YO31 7PB, or read more about:

Travelling by bicycle

If you’re travelling to the Monkgate building by bicycle, we have space to park bicycles in a room just inside the building’s main entrance (accessible by ramp), or alternatively there are two cycle stands on the pavement outside.

Travelling by public transport

The Monkgate Building is directly on the Monks Cross (Silver Line, bus 9) Park and Ride line, and within a 6-minute walk of other Park and Ride services.

The primary bus operator in York is First Bus, although there are a small number of services operated by Coastliner/York & Country, Connexions, East Yorkshire, and York Pullman.

There is a bus stop (named “Trinity Methodist Church”) directly outside the Monkgate building, and bus routes serving the city centre are all within a 10 minute walk of the building.

Travelling by car

Parking outside the church building on Monkgate itself is limited to residents, but there are several parking options available nearby.

We have arranged free parking a short walk from the building at Park Grove Primary Academy, Park Grove, York, YO31 8LG.

From Huntington Road, turn onto Park Grove, and drive into the school’s car park. On Sunday mornings, we share this parking with another nearby church, so it is important to park at the far end of the car park, leaving the end closest to the car park entrance for attendees at the other church.
