Our Small Groups meet in various homes across the city on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights. All groups consist of people of all different ages and from all walks of life. All our groups tend to be quite close knit, but friendly and open to newcomers making them a great way of getting to know, and building relationships with, a small bunch of people in the church. Each group does things differently, but the focus will always be on faith, Bible Study and prayer as well as enjoying time spent in each other’s company and sharing life together.
There are currently 3 groups meeting across the city:
Sam and Susie’s Group:
We meet on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm in the Huntington area. Penny and Susie co-ordinate the logistics of the group but generally everyone has a go at leading a meeting. We have a mixture of ages in our group, from young professionals to a retired couple. We combine social time, Bible study and prayer. Transport may be available, depending on where from.
Andy and Heather’s Group:
We meet on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm. Currently we don’t have anywhere permanent to meet, so the location varies week to week. We consist mainly of young adults with a couple of wise heads thrown in. We meet every week to chat, study the Bible, and pray together. We are a friendly bunch with a tendency to go off on tangents. We can provide transport for those who need it.
Jenny and Jonathan’s Group:
We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7.40 to 9.45pm at various member’s houses. After a welcome cup of coffee, biscuit and chat we generally have a bible study followed by discussion and concluding with a time of prayer. The format is flexible, for example when people bring a poem/thought/bible verse/piece of music to share with the group or we discuss the Sunday sermon, share a meal together or enjoy some form of light entertainment e.g. a quiz or game. New members to our group will receive a warm welcome.
